Southwest Windpower Unveils Small Wind Turbine

07 January 2011

Southwest Windpower has unveiled its newest and most efficient small wind turbine, Skystream 600.

By Renewable Energy Focus staff

Skystream 600 is said to produce 74% more energy for commercial and residential use than its predecessor, and can provide an average of 7.4 MWh a year with an average annual wind speed of 12 mph.

Skystream 600 will be fully smart grid-enabled, and the small wind turbine will be available to the public in March 201.

“Through multiple upgrades—including larger blade design, enhanced software and an improved integrated inverter – Skystream 600 provides users with a more efficient and affordable small wind system,” says Dixon Thayer, CEO of Southwest Windpower.

“By reducing electric bills, Skystream 600 helps provide affordable independence and stability to users while producing clean energy that won’t hurt the environment.”
